What is MFA?
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security process that requires users to provide more than just a password to log in to an account. MFA in CARIA will require users to use two verification methods to gain access. Firstly users will enter in a username and password, they will then need to generate a six digit code (using an authenticator app) which will need to be entered into CARIA to successfully login.
Why are we introducing multi factor authentication (MFA) in CARIA?
In Caria, we only hold very minimal personal data but we do hold a lot of information around advertising campaigns, including sensitive information like budgets, campaign start dates and pre-transmission spot times which we need to protect for you.
In general, compromised passwords are one of the most common ways that attackers use to access your data, your identity, or your money. So we're pleased to rollout MFA which is one of the easiest ways to make it a lot harder for them, in particular because hybrid working now means it isn't always possible to lock your Caria user accounts to your office.
